The installation package of TmRecorder consists of a zip file containing two files: setup.exe and TMRecorderSetup.msi. Although you can install from the second file, it is always preferable (to avoid problems) use the setup.exe file. To start the installation you must choose a folder in which to place all data (it will be asked during the first boot), and where to install the program (it will be proposed to you a default folder during the installation, something like c:/program/Insyde/tmrecorder, you should accept the default). In addition, the program will install in a reserved folder a series of data for the application, files that are vital to the functioning of the program. This folder is usually located in:
Installation ProblemsSometimes, after the installation is complete, you can not start the application, or after you start it, the program gives some error that says it can not find a function in a DLL or something like that. If you use TMR by a long time you may have installed a release that not really stable (especially if this program error happens), so you can try to resolve the problem by doing the following steps (take these steps one by one, checking each time if TmRecorder again work properly):
TmRecorder BackupIf TmRecorder is already installed and you've already downloaded data of your team, you should make sometime a backup of your data directory. The data folder is the one you chose during installation of the program and will probably find it in your My Documents folder (it could be something like My Documents/TmRecorder). To make a backup, simply copy the entire folder TmRecorder and paste it in another part of the disk of your PC (for example, create a Backup folder in the Documents folder and put it inside the folder TmRecorder). Or, more usefully, do a zip folder (as they are almost all the zip text files will save you a lot of space) and put it in another folder on your PC that you are dedicated to backups. Make a backup at regular period may save the data of your team in case of a problem occurs while saving the data or another among all the possible accidents that may occur during the use of a program. In any case, in the ImportedPages subfolder of the folder where you installed TmRecorder you should find all the pages you have to be imported from when you installed the version 1.19 (in practice, since December 10, 2009). In case you have lost data on your team (and only in that case, I recommend), you can re-import these page from the menu item (File -> Load from Backup Files) indicating always the date of importation in case that you are importing a file of the team or the training (to know the date, see date of the file you're importing). The formats of data backup are as follows, with the identifier id that corresponds to the id of the team, player or match, dd is the day of importation, yyyy is the year:
